True, some people may find it unreal to list a Dog as a child, however before the birth of our 2nd son we was told unless I changed Father's it my husband was 90% male donor. Betty Sue soon after being told came into our lives by accident. Since after having our 2nd child, We had to make a decision that neither one of us wanted to make I had to have a emergency c-section so we couldn't have anymore children, and adoption was out of the question. We decided to adopt Betty Sue as a daughter. Betty Sue was very protective of us and spent night and day next to me while I was sick only long enough breaks to eat a few bits or go out to use the potty, then right back in the bed with me, loved to take naps with me, she also loved to ride in the car, and going on walks to the downtown park she never tried to chase the ducks or run away, was always well behaved when on a leash and listening to my commands and never once took classes for this, however if she was told she couldn't go she would stay home and always met me at the door when I came home tail wagging and jumping with joy. Sadly, in December 2011 on my return from on of my trips from Georgia I noticed a place a one of her breast and she kept chewing at it and licking it. At the time I had just spent all of my money moving into my house in Georgia, as bad as I hated to do I had to wait till my next trip back which was in a few days and find her a vet, I was sadly told in Jan she had breast cancer. Once the vet told me she only had a 50% chance of making it because of her age, I had to make the hard choice of choosing to just let her live out her life. I then had to sadly stand by and watch her get worse, I could bring myself to put her down. Although, she was sick she was faithful til her last day. Although, your last here with me was sad I know it was a good one for you because you found your mate and was gone all day. After, several hours of worry I did have to make that call I'm sorry that I did but I knew it was best for you not to have the puppies as old as your were, but having breast cancer vet advised that it would be harder on me if I just let you have them. I had her cremated and brought back home with a couple weeks after she died. I love you Betty Sue!! We shall meet on the other side.
