Francis "Frank" Edmundson Nabers, Jr. a son of rancis "Frank" Edmundson Nabers and the former Miss Braxton Bevelle Comer, was born on September 7th 1906 in Birmingham, Alabama. His maternal grandfather was Governor Braxton Comer; who would also represent Alabama as their U.S. Senator.

Frank Nabers' father was a well known and respected doctor in Birmingham and encouraged hos son to persuse a good education. Young Frank was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Class of 1929. After Frank graduated, he returned to Birmingham and worked for the Swann Chemical Company.

Around 1931, Frank Nabers married Miss Catherine McDonald Swann; with whom he had one son:
Frank Swann Nabers (1933-1951)

Sadly, Catherine died following the birth, leaving Frank a widower at the age of 27. Five years later on Christmas Day 1938, Frank married Miss Edith Egloff Johnston, a young school teacher from Birmingham. This union would have one known daughter:
Edith Johnson Nabers

Frank's work would take the family around the country; finally residing in Wilson, North Carolina.
