The many friends of William M. Peppard were shocked to hear of his death in Edmonton on Monday last. He enjoyed good health up to the Tuesday preceding his death, when he was taken down with a stroke and passed away in hospital with pneumonia on Monday. Mr. Peppard was born in DeBert, N.S., and came to Calgary 17 years ago, where he engaged in general contracting, forming the firm Peppard, Marple and Frizzle. Mr. Marple and Mr. Frizzle passed away a few years ago. The deceased went to Edmonton in the middle of April to engage in his line of contracting. He was 73 years of age at the time of his death and leaves his wife, Ada M, living at 1016 Thirteenth avenue west, and seven sons, Theodore L., in Minneapolis; Victor E., in Maynard, Mass.; Clarence M. and Stuart in Calgary; Murray D. and George W. in Detroit; and Dr. Harold, in New York and two daughters, Mrs. E. M. Hobbs, Miami, Florida, and Mrs. J. R. Giles, Minneapolis. He also leaves a brother, L. O. Peppard in Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. S. Carter in DeBert, N.S.
