Christine was born in Bloxwich England on January 10, 1921 the daughter of Charles E. and Mary Ann (Knight) Thomas. She married Walter C. Carlson at the Tovey United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death December 18, 2010.
Mrs. Carlson was a member of Chatham United Methodist Church. She worked for over 30 years as an Auditor for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Christine attended the Christian Women’s Club and was a member of the Springfield Motor Boat Club where her husband Walter served as a Past Commander. She loved: making homemade Christmas Ornaments, her dog and outside animals that she was known to feed from time to time.
Surviving are a step son David (Rosemary) Carlson of Gallatin, TN along with 2 step granddaughters, 2 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband Walter, 2 brothers Edward John Thomas and Charles William Thomas and a sister Gladys May Baranzelli, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 22, 2014 at Chatham United Methodist Church. Pastor Sara Isbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is handling arrangements.
