Samuel Storrs (1785) was the son of Joseph STORRS, Jr. (1753-1827), who died at Westport, Essex County, New York in 1827. Joseph STORRS was buried near the lake in Westport, but later his remains were removed to the Black River Burying Ground in Westport. In 1880, his nephew, Charles STORRS had erected a substantial granite stone to his memory.

His first wife, Clarissa "Claricy" (HOISINGTON) STORRS, died 14 Nov. 1842, and she is buried in the /Black River Burying Ground, Westport, Essex Co., NY. together with her father-in-law, Joseph STORRS, (1763-1627 )]
