Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Matlick, 93, of 811 Oak St., died in St. Francis hospital Tuesday after a long illness. Born in West Virginia, July 10, 1861, she was the daughter of Thomas and Martha (Glenn) White. She was married to William R. Matlick at Memphis, Mo. She was a member of the Bethel Methodist church of Memphis, Mo. and a member of the Eastern Star, Rutledge, Mo. Surving are a son, Byrl Matlick, Burlington; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Wallace, Los Angeles, and a number of nieces and nephews. A stepson and nine brothers and sisters are dead. The body was taken to the Gerth & Baskett funeral home in Memphis, Mo., for funeral services at a time to be announced.

Funeral services were held here at the Methodist Church for Mrs. Ellen Matlick, 93, who until six years ago had lived in this community. She then went to Burlington to make her home with her son Byrl and family. Interment was in the Bethel cemetery. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Matlick, Mrs. Leliah Brown and daughter Mary Joyce, Mrs. Richard Haist and Mrs. White of Burlington; Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Matlick and sons of Rock Island, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reagan and Mrs. Adah Wilsey of Montgomery City; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Killen and Ross Killen of Clarence, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell McWilliams of Shelbina.
