CAROLYN AMMONS

Carolyn Sue Ammons, 76, of Daybrook, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born August 28, 1938 at Core, a daughter of the late Edward Earl Delaney and Aretis Victoria Shanks Delaney Heflin.

Mrs. Ammons was a retired teacher's aide for the Monongalia County Board of Education.

Carolyn was a member of the Daybrook Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, Donny Ray Ammons, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; Randolph (Randy) Ammons of Daybrook, and Eric Ammons of Core; one daughter, Cristi Kwei of Hurricane; two sisters, Doris Eleanor Deavers a resident of the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown and Charlene Eveland of Columbia, MD; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donny Ray Ammons who died May 21, 1984; one brother, Kenneth Delaney; step-father, Ted Heflin; and one great-grandchild, Lillian Faith Meador.

Friends may call at the Daybrook Church of Christ, Daybrook, WV from 6-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Daybrook.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
