The funeral for Mrs. Lewis Carter Burwell, first curator of the Mint Museum of Art, will be at 3 p.m. today in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, which was founded by Mrs. Burwell's grandparents, Col. and Mrs. William R. Myers.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Burwell, who died Sunday in a local nursing home at the age of 77, was on the National Honor Roll of American Artists' Professional League.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis Carter Burwell Jr. of Pinehurst and Clayton Lee Burwell of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. William W. White of Denver, Colo.; and a sister Mrs. Lila Bruguiere of Pinehurst.
Friends are sending memorials to St. Peter's Episcopal Church Endowment Inc.
