William was the son of Frederick Krul and Theresa Koeslick. His son, William, swore on his 1922 passport application that he immigrated on or about 30 Mar 1868 from Bremen, Germany, and he settled in Louisville, Kentucky. On 15 Sep 1872 he married Wilhelmina "Mina" Schulte and they had four children: John, Bernardina, Catherine and William. Mina died in 1882. On 02 May 1888 he married his housekeeper, Hermine Bungenstock, and they had seven children: Charles, Minnie, Frank, Loretta, Cecilia, Virgil and Alvina. William was a tailor and for many years he worked for F. Pelle. He died of acute nephritis at his home, 720 E. Washington Street, at the age of 77.

Note: It is believed that William Krul and his descendants are related to my great grandmother, Mary Catherine Vonderhaar Pape. She inscribed on photos of three of his children the words "second cousin" and I am attempting to determine the exact lineage of the family and its relationship to my great grandmother. If anyone has information about the Krul family please contact me.
