Mrs. HELEN ELIZABETH FUNKHOUSER, 437 Jefferson Street, died Wednesday night after an illness of five months, aged 85. She was the widow of Ralph A. Funkhouser. She was born in the same block of Jefferson Street in which she spent her lifetime. She was the daughter of Frederick D. and Mary Ann (Barlup) Baker, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was the last member of her generation of the family.


She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Teach, Williamsport, and Mrs. Elsie Dubel, Funkstown; sons, Charles E., Ralph L., and Frederick D., all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Suter-Rouzer Funeral Home; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
