Funeral services were Friday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Billy Clyde Wheeler officiating.
Interment was in Wesley Chapel, Fayette, Al with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Wheeler was born September 20, 1940 in Kennedy, AL to the late Thomas David and Itie Vaudeen Stripling Wheeler. He was Captain of the Columbus Fire Department for twenty-one years. Mr. Wheeler was of the Baptist faith, he was an avid fisherman, loved Alabama Football and dominos.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Taylor Wheeler; brother, Bobby Joe Wheeler.
Survived by; son, Stan (Pam) Wheeler; daughter, Donna (Richard) Webb; grandchildren, Richard Gerhard Webb,II, Anna Webb, Taylor Webb; brothers, Tim Wheeler and Billy Wayne Wheeler; sister, Shirley Battle; nieces, nephews and special friend, Donald Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be Columbus Fire and Rescue Department and The Staff of Windsor Place.
