Gary L. Emerson, age 65, of Granger passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Gary was born December 14, 1948 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Glen R. and Althea G. (Haas) Emerson. The Penn High School graduate served honorably in the US Air Force and obtained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged. On January 12, 1970, he married Caridad A. Fernandez in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife Caridad A. Emerson of Granger and his daughter Liberty F. (Paul) DiGiacomo of South Bend. Also surviving is his brother David (Cheryl) Emerson of Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
Gary was employed for many years as an Environmental Supervisor at Elkhart Products Corporation until his retirement three years ago. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
There will be one hour of calling prior to the 6:30 pm memorial service on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be held privately at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
