RALEIGH - Doris Shepherd Jones, 87, of Raleigh died Thursday, December 30, 1999. Doris was a long time resident of Raleigh and she was retired from Seaboard Railroad Co. She was preceded in death by her husband Perry A. "Pappy" DeMent. Doris is survived by her son, William H. DeMent, Sr., of Wake County; grandsons, William H. DeMent, Jr. and Perry Clayton DeMent, both of Raleigh; sister, Louise Pennicks of Atlanta, GA; brother, Dorsey S. Shepherd and his wife Mary Frances; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mountlawn Cemetery.
