Julian Overton was the son of Neal Overton and was born July 22, 1851, being at the time of his death 46 years, 5 months and 8 days old. He was reared on the old homestead near Stewartsville, and on arriving at the age of maturity was united in marriage to Miss Eva Baird, and to this union ten children were born, eight survive him. Mr. Overton leaves this large family in destitute circumstances. He was a charter member of the Poseyville A.O.U. W. lodge until last winter when he failed to pay his assessment, hence the circumstances of his family. Mr. Overton, a few years ago, was one of our best farmers, owning 110 acres of land near Stewartsville, which he sold and moved to Oklahoma where he was overtaken by misfortune and he came back here entirely broke up, since which time he had lived on Ode Overton's farm.
