Mr. Armentrout had been ill for two years and was admitted to the hospital Thursday.
He was born July 11, 1899, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Virginia Armentrout.
He spent his entire life in the Melrose area and was a farmer and substitute mail carrier. Mr. Armentrout attended Trinity Lutheran Church.
On January 31, 1945, he married the former Ruthene W. Wilfong, who survives.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the McMullen Funeral Home by the Rev. Ray Hatcher. Burial will be in Lacey Spring Cemetery.
