L.P. Andersen was born in Hellested, Shjelland, Denmark, July 19, 1871 and died at hid home southwest of Creighton, May 21, 1928 at the age of 56 years, 10 months and 2 days.

He came to America with his parents at the age of two years and settled at Marshalltown, Iowa. Later they came to Nebraska in the pioneer days, settling on a farm six miles northwest of Brunswick.

After residing with his parents for a number of years, he came to Brunswick and conducted a pool hall for 12 years. After disposing of the business, he purchased a garage, which business he carried on in a very successful manner for a number of years.

His health then began to fail and he returned to the farm, where he lived for six years, up to the time of his passing.

Mr. Andersen was united in marriage to Fanny Stochl, October 2, 1907. To this union one daughter, Blanche, was born.

Other surviving relatives are one brother, P.J. Andersen, Royal and three sisters, Mrs. George Rockwell, Mrs. N.A. Sewell and Mrs. L.A. Jensen. His parents passed on several years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Community Hall in Brunswick, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends gathered from both far and near to pay the final tribute to the deceased. Rev. DeBenham of Spencer preached the funeral sermon, delivering a very fitting eulogy of the life of this man, with whom he had been acquainted for so many years. Rev. DeBenham was assisted in the services by the local pastor.

The floral offerings were beautiful and plentiful, which attested to the esteem in which Mr. Andersen was held by the people of the community. The remains were interred in the Brunswick cemetery.
