DEATH CLAIMS MRS. J. HYNEK
Former Operator of Grocery Stores In Manitowoc, Dies
Mrs. Jacob Hynek, who for many years operated grocery stores in Manitowoc,
died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Schlundt, in the town of Two
Rivers at 9 o'clock Monday night after an illness of seven months. She was
63 years old.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Klein and
Stangel funeral home with the Rev. Franklin E. Schlueter officiating.
Interment will be in Forest View cemetery here.
The deceased, nee Catherine Frye, was born in Bohemia Aug. 6, 1872 and at
an early age immigrated to this country and settled at Denmark and later
moved to Reifs Mills where she resided for many years. Later she moved to
Manitowoc where she operated a grocery store on Chicago street and later on
N. Ninth street. She retired from business last November when she became ill
and since resided with her daughter.
Mrs. Hynek is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Otto Schlundt and Mrs. Harry
Laughlin of Reifs Mills and a son, Emil Hynek of this city. Six sisters and
four brothers also survive. They are Mrs. Mary Wagner, Rockville, Mo., Mrs.
Anna Wagner, Whitelaw, Mrs. Carrie Fliegle, Rice Lake, Mrs. Barbara Youra,
Reedsville, Mrs. Emma Hanek, Denmark, Mrs. Frances Klaus, Green Bay, Frank
Frye, Lena, Wis., Joseph Frye, Francis Creek, George Frye and Charles Frye,
Green Bay.
