Elvira "Vera" (Guarino) O'Shields, 83, of Pacolet, SC, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born September 22, 1922, in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Elizabeth Ann Guarino, and the beloved wife of the late Paul Vernon OShields.

Mrs. OShields was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Joe OShields of Pacolet; three daughters, Nancy Bell and Pauline Raven, both of Spartanburg and Gail Johnson of Union, SC; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, conducted by Rev. Herbert Adams. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
