"Buck" Campbell moved to Wichita Kansas in 1875 with his parents. An early settler he and a brother farmed land that is now Maple Grove cemetery. In addition to farming he raised Percheron horses and won national blue ribbons in 1892 and 1895. He married Isabell Overley on October 30, 1912. They had one son Scott. Buck was an inspector for Cudahy packing company for 27 years.
