Edna Becker McKenna Kurtz, age 96, a resident of The Court at Felician Village, 1903 Division Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin died Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Mary's Home Next Step at Felician Village.

Edna was born August 8, 1918 in Maribel, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late William and Amanda (Rabenhorst) Becker. The family moved to Manitowoc in 1925. Edna attended First German Ev. Lutheran School in Manitowoc. She continued her education at Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1936. Edna married Herman "Sam" McKenna in 1939 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church. For 16 years they operated McKenna Rides and Amusements. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1962. She later married Lyle Kurtz in 1966 at St. Martins Lutheran Church in Chilton, Wisconsin. They owned and operated Chilton Manufacturing, Inc. until the business was sold. Lyle preceded her in death on August 7, 1990. Edna was employed at National Tinsel Company and Johnson Hills both in Manitowoc. She was active at St. Martins Lutheran Church in teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Edna enjoyed crocheting and playing cards. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and Christian Circle Clubs at St. Martins Lutheran Church in Chilton.

She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Klein; Gloria (Daniel) Schaut, both of Manitowoc, WI; one son: James (Barbara) McKenna Kurtz, Chilton, WI; five grandchildren: Robert Klein, Heidi Kohlbeck, Brenda Krainik, Lori King and Katherine (K.C.) Kurtz; four great grandchildren: Amanda and Cameron King, Lauren and Matthew Krainik; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Amanda Becker; first husband: Herman "Sam" McKenna; second husband: Lyle Kurtz; brother: Hugo Becker; sister and brother-in-law: Ruth and Clayton Borucki; sister-in-law: Dorothy Gretz Becker; grandson: Rick Klein.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Schossow with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation took place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
