Wealthy May Hanley, age 88, of Toledo, Illinois passed away at 5:50 PM – Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care in Greenup, Illinois.
Wealthy was born on May 18, 1926 in Toledo, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Mamie (Kingery) Oakley. She married Walter Hanley on December 2, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1992.
Wealthy was a homemaker and loving mother. She also had worked at the Quinn Broom Factory, Garment factory and at Headstart.
Wealthy was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Toledo, Illinois. She was an avid gardener and was a wonderful cook. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was so proud to have 91 living decedents.
Wealthy is survived by: 8 Children – Marie Sponsel of Greenup, Illinois; Max (Virginia) Hanley of Jewett, Illinois; Dean (Suzanna) Hanley of Hillsboro, Missouri; David Hanley of Toledo, Illinois; Leon (Cindy) Hanley of Toledo, Illinois; Lee (Cindy) Hanley of Jewett, Illinois; Lyle Hanley of Toledo, Illinois and Joe (Kim) Hanley of Paris, Illinois; Daughter-in-law – Loretta Hanley of Toledo, IL; 21 Grandchildren 37 Great Grandchildren 24 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother – Marvin Oakley of Toledo, Illinois; Sisters – Ethel Zikes Gaston of Montrose, Illinois and Ruth White of Westfield, Illinois
Wealthy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Frona White; sons LaVerl, Lyle and Paul Wayne Hanley; grandson John Hanley; granddaughters Laura and Melissa Hanley; brothers Alvin, Calvin and Charles Oakley; sisters Monalee Keil, Naomi Hampton and Opal Oakley.
