Funeral services for John Daniel Dyer Jr., 21, of 1013 Collingswood, killed in an auto accident on Mustang Island Road about 11 p.m. yesterday, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Clifford-Jackson Funeral Chapel, with burial in Seaside Memorial Park.
Dyer was a passenger in a car driven by Henry Eugene Hrchek, 18, of 1026 Chamberlain, who was still under observation today for injuries. He is at Memorial Medical Center.
The car apparently was headed south when it went out of control and struck the side of the bridge over Corpus Christi Pass, went into the air and landed on a parked car, according to Gene L. French, who arrived at the accident soon after it occurred.
Dyer, a native of Alameda, Calif., had lived inn Corpus Christi most of his life and was a student at Del Mar College. He had served three years in the Air Force and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Dyer, and two brothers, Jay Douglas Dyer and James Derek Dyer, all of Corpus Christi; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. John L. Foster Sr. of Austin, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ray[sic, May] Rollison of Worthington, Ind.
