CLIFTON PARK Matthew Matt F. Proctor, 15, born September 19, 1990, peacefully passed into the next life on March 12, 2006 after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia for six years. He left this life much too soon but loved and was loved by his family and friends. Beloved son of Fred and Kimberly Craft Proctor; older brother of Christopher and Allison Proctor, both of Clifton Park. He is also survived by his grandparents, Patricia Craft of Clifton Park, Bill and Madeline Craft of Glenmont, and Fred and Loretta Proctor of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Lewis, N.Y.; Matthew is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt is predeceased by his great-grandmother, Marjorie Shannon. He also leaves behind man's best friend, Nelly and Mitzie. Matt was a determined and honor student in Shenendehowa School District with an infectious smile and contagious laugh. His sense of humor was strong and stayed with him throughout his life. Matt received a special award sponsored by Attorney General Elliot Spitzer during 8th grade graduation celebration on June 17, 2005. Despite a six year battle with his illness, he set his goals high and was determined to be the Valedictorian of his graduating class of 2009. Matt was the valedictorian of Life and he was surrounded by love from family and friends. His passion for life was only out done by his love of Legos, drums, video games, and the NY Yankees. In July of 2005, the Marty Lyons Foundation provided him with a trip to N.Y. and a visit with the NY Yankees. Matt had the opportunity to meet his favorite player, Derek Jeter in the Yankee dugout. Matt's family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Jennifer Clark, pediatric oncologist, who is a consummate professional and a much-loved friend to Matt and the family. Also to the entire staff at Boston Children's Hospital. Much appreciation for the loving friends that helped the entire family throughout this arduous experience. Also to the Make-A-Wish Foundation who provided the family with a memorable trip to Lego Land in San Diego, Calif. and the Marty Lyons Foundation who arranged for Matt's last trip to Yankee Stadium. Funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 from St Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
