Shirley A. Kiel, age 75, of 1139 S. 35th Street, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on November, 26, 1936 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Lawrence and Hyacinth (Funk) Grenier. On June 11, 1955 she married Leland P. Kiel at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. While their children were growing up, Shirley spent most of her time raising her children, being a homemaker. Shirley later began her employment at Shady Lane in 1986 until her retirement in the housekeeping department. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and enjoyed attending daily mass at St. Mary’s Home; she was also a past member of Catholic Junior League and the National Guard Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband: Leland P. Kiel, Manitowoc; five sons and four daughters-in-law: Stephen & Joan Kiel, Manitowoc, Todd & Becky Kiel, Manitowoc, Brian Kiel, Richfield, Allen & Camm Kiel, Gurnee, Illinois, Tom and Liz Kiel, Mesa, Arizona; two daughters and two son-in-law; Barbara & Bill Oestreich, Manitowoc, Susan & Mark Drake, Omro; twenty grandchildren with one expected in September of 2012: Kristin and her husband Jeff, Aimee, Aaron and his fiancée Kari, Adam, Tania, Ashley, Olivia, Daniel, Jared, Bill Jr. and his wife Heidi, Ryan, Cole, Courtney, Alexis, Stephanie, Nolan, Madeleline, Shawn and his wife Cassie, Dylan and Addison; five great grandchildren with one expected in August of 2012: Cameron, Davon, Kiley, Peyton and Grayson; five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law: Wayne & Barbara Kiel, Manitowoc, Dale & Jane Kiel, Florida, Sandy Kiel, Waukesha, Jerome & Judy Kiel, Kiel, Bruce & Nancy Kiel, Green Bay, Warren & Paulette Kiel, Texas; and a brother-in-law & Kevin Buschey, Cedar Grove. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law: Alvin & Barbara Kiel; step mother-in-law: Mary Kiel; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Norman & Carol Scharnhorst, Gary Kiel and Lynn Buschey.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 until 10:45 a.m.
