He departed this life on September 14, 2014, in Phoenix, AZ.
Terry attended school at the Sleepy Eye Public School until 1960 when he moved with his parents to Mesa, Arizona. At one time Terry made the Sleepy Eye Herald newspaper for skipping school to go fishing. He had decided it was too nice of a day to be indoors.
Terry enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 19 and did two tours in Vietnam. Once discharged Terry engaged in construction most of his life, a trade that he had learned from his dad and older brothers.
Terry married Carole Alare White Hall on October 22, 1965, in Florence, Arizona. Terry is survived by his wife, Carole Stimpert, Mesa, Arizona, children: Wade Alan (Betsy) Hall of Chandler, AZ, Terra Lou Stimpert Bain, of Mesa, AZ, Carrie Stimpert (Shango) Yenovich, of Chester, Connecticut, Terry David Stimpert II, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tina Stimpert (Stewart) Chavez, of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Berry (Stephanie) Stimpert of Apache Junction, AZ; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers: James (Rose) Stimpert, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, John (Ruth) Stimpert, Devils Lake, North Dakota, Greg(Jean) Stimpert of Hutchinson, MN; and sisters, Judith (Dennis) Holweger, Northwood, North Dakota, Phyllis (Deborah Wall) Stimpert, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Betty Garland, Troy, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, relatives and devoted friend, Jill Parkinson.
Terry was preceded in death by his six year old daughter, Melinda Sue Stimpert, in 1977, his granddaughter EllaMay Ann Chavez, his parents and his brother-in-law, John Garland. Cremation has taken place in Mesa, AZ for services at a later date.
