Obituary:
Harley Funeral Home remembers Aaron Clem in Greenwood, SC. Aaron James Clem, 78, “The Gentle Giant”, is now at rest. He fought a good fight and is now with our Heavenly Father.

Leaving to cherish his memory is a loving family, his wife, JoAnn; daughters, Cherri Ellenburg (Johnny) and Jill Clem Brown. He was preceded in death by his son, James Barry Clem and a son-in-law, Ronald J. Brown.

One of the great joys of his life was his grandchildren, Stephanie Green (Stacey), Jennifer Fleming (Kevin) and Rodney Ellenburg; and his great grandchildren, Zane and AJay Green, Brycen Cody and Laural Fleming.

Aaron was a lifelong resident of Ninety Six. He was the son of the late Jodie and Effie Clem and was preceded in death by his four brothers and one sister. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Aaron was a member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Adult #5 Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the quartet known as “The Redemption Singers”, a local group from his church. Shortly before his home going, the group, consisting of Steve Turner, Eddie Muller and Florine McCoy, gathered in his home and sang together around his bed. Aaron’s smooth, deep voice could still be heard singing along with the rest. The Good Lord gave him the strength to sing his sweet praises one last time here on earth. Now he is singing in the Heavenly Choir.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Green, Brent Horne, Kevin Fain, Chad Matthews, Gerald Price and Dennis Kelly.

Honorary escort will be Larry Roark, Steve Turner, Donald Leopard, Steve Dove, Dale Jones, Holley Smith, David Ouzts and Dr. Dan Robinson.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Jill Brown, 100 Draper Street, Ninety Six.

Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church building fund, 206 State Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666
