VALERIA (KATTREH) KLUENKER

Valeria (Kattreh) Kluener, age 80, of 3309 Yorskhire Lane, Manitowoc, died on Friday evening, Oct. 2, 2009, at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Valeria was born Sept. 6, 1929, in the town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Edwin and Anita (Ruh) Kattreh. She graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1947. During high school she was a member of the Kiel High School Band and Mixed Chorus. She was also a former member of the Kiel Municipal Marching and Concert Band. In addition to performing in bands, Valeria taught piano lessons for many years. She was a former organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel.

Survivors include her children: Marjorie Fitzgerald, David (Debbie) Kluenker, Daniel Edwin Kluenker all of Manitowoc; and Marylee (Kevin) Koch, Alaska; father of her children: Roy Kluenker; one brother: Loyal (Kay) Kattreh, Manitowoc; brother-in-law: Marvin Kliment, Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Dallas and Travis Fitzgerald, Amy (Eric) Grasee, David Jr. Emily) Kluenker, Joshua, Angela, Timothy and Cassandra Kluenker, Daniel and Hunter Koch; six great-grandchildren: Allison, Madison, Cameron and Kaitlyn Grasee, Austin and Alexis Kluenker. Nieces, nephews, and Godchildren also survive. She was also preceded in death by one sister: Clarice Kliment; and one nephew: Eric Kattreh.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Oct 8, 2009, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Richard Miller. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Wisconsin 310, town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Valeria’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church, 387 Cemetery Road, Kiel

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
