John Louis Harthcock, SEATED ON THE RIGHT in the photo, was the husband of Izora Henrietta (Forbus) Harthcock. He was the son of John Godfrey Harthcock, who is buried in Harlands Cemetery, Mississippi. John Louis Harthcock was the father of Annie Laura (Harthcock) Wood, Lewis Raiford Harthcock, Rosa Belle (Harthcock) Bell, Vernon W. Harthcock and Loula (Harthcock) Shanks. He was the brother of William Edward Harthcock FAG Memorial #15494826.

"John Louis Harthcock married Izora Henrietta Forbus, daughter of William (Billy) Forbus and Ann Peaster. John Louis and Izora Henrietta lived near Zeiglerville, Mississippi until 1887 when they moved to Texas. They settled in the Point Enterprise Community, 5 miles east of Mexia {pronounced Muh-HAY'-uh}, Limestone County, Texas. Later they moved 3 miles north to the New Hope Community, Texas where they lived until John Louis died."
