Mr. Plelton Satterley, aged 83 years, died at his home near Sinai, Friday afternoon, March 30th, 1934, after an illness of several months from heart trouble. He had been in a serious condition for about two months, but he bore his suffering with great patience and Christian fortitude. He joined the Antioch Christian church at the age of 17 and was a faithful member as long as he was able to attend. At the time of his death he was the oldest member of the Antioch church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Amanda Satterley and two daughters, Mrs. Harve Gritton, of Sinai; Miss Elizabeth Satterley who lives at home with her parents; six sons, Willie and Virgil Satterley, of Seymour, Ind.; Lester Satterley, of Tyrone; Sherman Satterley, Louisville; G.T. Satterley, of Fairfield; Archie Satterley, Sinai. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Jerry Bowman, of Lexington; and twenty-one grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

His funeral service was conducted by Rev. Luther Peak at Antioch and the burial was at the Antioch cemetery. the casket bearers were six of his grandsons.
