A. Thomas Herbert died of heart disease on April 19, 2000 at his home. He was 62.

He was born in Syosset, Long Island, N.Y., the son of Stanley and Irene Simms Herbert. Before moving to Flemington in 1961, he lived in Kingwood Township.

He worked for the maintenance department of the Liberty Village shopping outlets in Flemington until his retirement two years ago.

He was a life member of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad.

He was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church and the captain of the church's dart team.

A son, Scott, died in 1984 and a brother, Stanley, died in 1999.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Irene and Emil Weber of Sanford, N.C.; his wife, Carolyn Buck Herbert; a son, Gordon Herbert of Flemington, and two brothers, Edward Herbert and Robert Herbert , both of Sanford.

His obituary was published in the Hunterdon County Democrat, Apr. 27, 2000.
