Oliver Perry Braden, 23 Parker Avenue, Rocky Grove, died in the Franklin Hospital at 6:10 am today, just four hours after being admitted. He had been in failing health for five years. He was born in the Braden homestead at Upper Two Mile Run Jan. 15, 1867, son of John and Elizabeth Hogg Braden.
He was an oil well driller by trade, and for many years followed the oil field developments throughout western Pennsylvania and the western states. He retired 10 years ago.
He married Agnes Green June 30, 1896, and she died in 1952.
Surviving are a son, Clifford H. Braden, Oil City RD 1; a daughter, Miss Lucille Braden, at home; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Merle Edward and John Everett.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Burger Funeral Home with Rev. C. L. Rummel, pastor of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
