William W. Jennings was born in 1833. His parents and birthplace are unknown but he was probably born around Appomattox or Campbell county. On March 1, 1862 He enlisted in company H, 18th virginia regiment during the civil war. While serving he was injured at the battle of seven pines where he dislocated his right knee and shoulder. After Seven Pines he served with the 18th Virginia infantry in many more battles. He was captured at The battle of Gettysburg on July 3, 1863 and he was a prisoner of war until he was exchanged on november 1, 1864. He married firstly to Mary F. Holt and he had several children by her. Secondly he married a lady named Julia. Her maiden name is unknown. Lastly he married Mary Jane Brown. He died sometime after 1900 and Before 1910 in Chatham VA. When he was 63 he applied for a pension for his service. His burial place is currently unknown.
