Bio info I have for Joseph Osborn, Jr. is this:
Joseph Osborn is supposed to have immigrated with his father at
approx. 2 years of age. He was orphaned at a young age. Joseph Osborn
and Sarah (Kinter) Osborn converted to the Catholic faith in the
1830 after they moved to the Crates Clarion Co., PA area. They moved
back to the Home, Indiana Co., PA area after retirement and both died
there.
Joseph was a taxable in Summerville, Jefferson county, PA in 1843, but
was living in New Bethlehem in 1850.
Joseph Osborn was a soldier in the war of 1812, But since no record was made of
his marriage his children were unable to get the tract of land which was
granted to Pennsylvania soldier of the war. Mary the oldest daughter worked for a Catholic
Family and may have brought Catholic literature home. Joseph and his wife
Sarah, and some of the children moved to Clarion Co. from Westmoreland County
and Settled on the farm owned later by Conrad Aaron just south of the Joseph
Aaron homestead that they might be near a Catholic Church as the fathers
health was not good.. No Improvement in his health caused them to move to
Indiana County, Pa. where they settled at Home, Pa.
