Vernie G. Burton, 67, of Eldon died Friday, Feb. 1, 1991 at Still Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born June 8, 1923 in Ulman to Clay and Dorah Hale Horton. Her mother survives at Lake Ozark. On April 27, 1940 she was married in Tuscumbia to Buell G. Burton, who died Jan. 11, 1982.
Mrs. Burton was a lifetime resident of Miller County and was a member of the Bagnell Baptist Church.
Surviving her, in addition to her mother, are a son, Stanley Burton of Bagnell; a brother, Jack Horton of Bagnell; two sisters, Colleen Reed of Bagnell and Hazel Phillips of Olean; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Wendall Estill officiating. Burial was in Greenmore Memorial Park at Barnett.
