Well Known Resident of Colerain Pike Dies in Hospital Following Lingering Illness
James S. Ashton, age 76 years, of Colerain Pike near Bridgeport, died at the Martins Ferry hospital at 7 o'clock last evening, following a lengthy illness. Death was attributed to complications.
Mr. Ashton was born in Belmont county and had spent his entire life in that county. He was a member of the Odd Fellow's Order of martins Ferry and was a staunch member of the First M. E. church also in that city.
Surviving is one sister, Miss Mary G Ashton, of Brookside, O, one daughter-in-law Mary B Ashton, of Colerain Pike with whom he resided, and five grandchildren, Marian, Robert and Lester Ashton, Mrs. Robert Hodge of Martins Ferry, and Mrs. Robert Balser of Wheeling.
