Miss Hill graduated from Livingston Park seminary in Rochester in 1882. In 1885, she married Mahlon Claude Gregg, of Rochester, and they had two children, both born in Rochester – Mrs. M. C. Swarthout of Wayland and Mahlon Hill Gregg of Rochester and later, California. In 1894 the family moved to Wayland to a home next door to that of Mrs. Gregg’s brother-in-law and sister, Justice and Mrs. William W. Clark. Mrs. Gregg became a member of the Wayland Methodist church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in all branches of the church work and her obituary stated that “her cheerful disposition endeared her to everyone who enjoyed her acquaintance.”
Mrs. Gregg died in her Wayland home April 25, 1944 after an illness of six months. Her husband predeceased her. She was survived by her two children and brother-in-law previously mentioned; also two brothers, George H. Hill of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Dr. Jonathan A. Hill of Allenhurst, N.J.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Wayland; interment in Mt. Hope cemetery, Rochester.
