Colleen Ann Blackmore was born December 11, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Hogan) Blackmore. She was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1954.
Colleen married William “Bill” Grassel on November 28, 1959 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Following their marriage, they resided in Grand Forks raising their family. Colleen was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 25 years and 10 years with the Security Department of the University of North Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, William; a son, Gregory Grassel; daughters, Lori (Kenneth) Luney, Leah Grassel, all of Grand Forks, ND and a grandson, Jacob Ryan Luney, Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Duane “Spud” Blackmore; sisters, Ethel May Pariseau, Elizabeth Schwanz and Patricia Silvey.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Monday.
Interment: At a later date.
