OMAR ABERNATHY DIES
RETIRED FURNITURE MANUFACTURER
WAS IN FLORIDA.
After Retiring from Active Business
in Leavenworth, Kas.,
Twenty Years Ago, He Became
a Bank Officer Here.
Omar Abernathy, 73 years old, retired banker and furniture manufacturer of Leavenworth, Kas., and Kansas City, died last night at his home in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. Abernathy was born and reared in Leavenworth, and was manager of the Abernathy Furniture company there until he retired from active business twenty years ago and came to Kansas City. He lived here eight years before going to Florida to make his home...
He leaves a son, James L. Abernathy, 1228 West Sixty-first street, who succeeded his father as an officer of the furniture company; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar N. Solbert and Mrs. Romaine Abernathy, both of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, H.T. Abernathy, 1228 West Fifty-sixth street, president of the First National Bank, and W.L. Abernathy, Reno, Nev., and a sister, Mrs. Abernathy Hull, Ridgefield, Conn.
Funeral services and burial will be held at Leavenworth.
