Mueller, Geraldine Marie (Klein)

The Lord has taken our wife, mother, and grandmother back home. Geraldine Marie (Klein) Mueller was lifted up to the heavens on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, from Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Jerry was born on Dec. 8, 1923, in Two Rivers, to the late Frank and Lorraine Van Lannen Klein. After her parent's early passing, she was raised by her grandmother until she could no longer care for Jerry and her brother Harlan Joe. They were then taken to St. Joseph's Orphanage in Green Bay when she was seven. Jerry and her brother stayed there until 1937. Her brother went with a family in De Pere and Jerry went with an aunt in Two Rivers where she had worked in many homes doing various duties.

On Jan. 12, 1943, Jerry married Carl P. Mueller Sr. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stockbridge. In this union they had six children. She with her husband were involved with various volunteer work at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Jerry was a member of the former St. Anne's Ladies Society. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, singing, and above all cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years: Carl, Manitowoc; two sons, Don (Sue) Mueller, Manitowoc; and Carl (Rosie) Mueller Jr., Wausaukee; four daughters, Marianne (Randy) Krueger, Wayside; Lorraine (Carl) Clevenger, Columbus, Ind.; Jeannie (Tim) Hinds, Manitowoc; and Kay Mueller, Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Irene Klein, Green Bay; a special friend, Ella Jean Kemp, California; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Scott Alan Jacobson; one sister, Dorothy Jean Phares; two brothers, Harlan Joseph Klein and her twin, Gerald; two sons-in-law, also many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A prayer service will be led by Deacon Paul Kieffer at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi on South 21st Street and Marshall Street, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The Rev. Daniel Felton will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
