KENNETH W. MUELLER

Kenneth W. Mueller, age 83, of 2322 37th St., Two Rivers, died on Sunday morning, Oct. 31, 2010, in St. Peters. Mo.

Ken was born on Oct. 18, 1927, son of the late Gerhardt and Martha (Hageli) Mueller. He attended school in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1945 from Washington High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Oshkosh and for several years taught science classes at Elkhart Lake High School after which he returned to Two Rivers and became employed at Hamilton Manufacturing, working as a detailer; retiring in 1992, Ken was a lifelong, faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers, where he served on the church council and various committees involved with the work of the church. He faithfully attended Bible classes. Ken enjoyed flying, had a private pilot’s license and for many years was a member of the Manitowoc Flying Club.

On October 26, 1963, he married Doris Erdmann at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. She survives, along with a daughter and son-in-law: Wendy and Jim Greenwood of St. Peters, Mo.; grandchildren: Sara and her husband, Josh Radginski of St. Ann, Mo. and Jimmy Greenwood of St. Peters, Mo. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Marian Kunstmann of Two Rivers and Diane Erdmann of Green Bay; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Marvin and Bernice Erdmann of Elkhart Lake; a special niece and nephew; Kay and Scot Steckmesser and Scot’s sons, Jacob and Joshua; along with other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Fred and Erna Erdmann; a sister: Darlene Steckmesser; brothers-in-law: Paul Steckmesser; Adolph Kunstmann, Daniel LeClair; Dale and Donald Erdmann; and a sister-in-law, just three weeks ago, Irene LeClair.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17th and East Park St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Scherbarth with entombment to follow at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

Ken’s family extends a special thank you to Pastor Wayne Shevey of Apostle’s Lutheran Church, Dardenne Prairie, Mo., for his spiritual support for Ken and his family during Ken’s illness.
