Claucie M. Gipson Gordon, 85, died at 3 AM today [Wednesday, May 16, 1973] in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient three days and in ill-health two weeks. Born at Campbellsburg, IN, she moved to Lafayette in 1919 after her marriage to Hassell C. Gordon, who survives. He is a retired building contractor.
Mrs. Gordon was formerly employed by the Bedford Daily Mail. She was a member of the Friends Church at Salem.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Moneta (Mrs. John J.) Crouch of Columbus, IN; two sons, Col. Herschel G. Gorden of Lawton, OK, and Eugene L. Gordon of Lafayette; one brother, D.A. Gipson of Bedford; one sister, Mrs. Eldana Johnson of Bedford; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
