Cora J. (Elam) Shoaf, 94, died at 10:10 PM Thursday, Oct. 6, 1988, in Lafayette Home Hospital. Born Jan. 26, 1894, in Fayette County, IL, she came to this area from Frankfort in 1952. Her first marriage was to Clarence C. Wickham. She married Mark Shoaf in 1950; he died in 1964. Mrs. Shoaf was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, SAMS Club, and Evangel Sunday School Class.

Surviving are two sons, Clinton Wickham of Frankfort and Jackie Wickham of Lafayette; four daughters, Donna (Mrs. Howard) Chatfield, Beulah (Mrs. Raymond) Duvall, both of Lafayette, Freda (Mrs. Ralph) Beavers of Scircleville, and Lula Beth (Mrs. Leon) Rood of Ocala, FL; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Sylver of Indianapolis; a brother, Earl Upton of Vienna, IL; 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Norma Mae Wickham and Sue J. McCord.
