Aunt Evelyn was born in New Augusta, Mississippi. The family moved to Baton Rouge, where she attended school. Growing up, Aunt Evelyn enjoyed staying indoors and helping in the kitchen, especially baking. She was "Daddy's Girl".
During her young adult life, she married Silas Bayard Dickie and together that had one daughter.
She later met and married Uncle Doc. They remained in Houston where she raised a son and daughter.
