ROBERT B. BRIZENDINE, 82, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 1996. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Anti-Tank Company, 179th Infantry where he earned the purple heart, the combat infantryman badge and five bronze service stars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie; and son, Michael; sister, Clara Lincoln; and brothers, Mack, Ira, Arnold, Frank and Odell.

He was survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Dorton, Troutville, Alice and Clyde Goodin, Tinsley, Kent, Becky and Harvey Riley, Salem, Barbara Brizendine, Roanoke, Bonnie and Rick Petty, Roanoke; brother, Carl Brizendine, Roanoke; also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 1966 at Lotz Roanoke Chapel with the Dr. Harry Y. Gamble and Rev. Billy White officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke.
