LaVina J. Peterson, Ionia, age 95, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1914 the daughter of Charles and Winifred (Partridge) Henderson.
Mrs. Peterson was a very active member of the Ionia Seventh-Day Adventist church, where she taught in her younger years and was the oldest and longest standing member. She retired from the Chrysler Lyons Trim Plant after many years of service.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Peterson of Ionia, granddaughter, Jennifer (Peterson) Cooper of Grand Rapids; three great-grandchildren, Tia (Morgan) Engle, Katelyn Cooper and Lance Cooper and great-great-grandson, James Engle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Peterson and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 721 Elmwood Drive, Ionia with the Rev. Gordon Henderson officiating. Interment will take place at River Ridge Cemetery in Belding. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday.
