She was born to Harold and Marjory Didrickson of Menominee, MI, and adopted and raised by Harold and Ruth Webber of Munising, MI, never trying to learn of her biological birth until her adopted mother's death, whereupon she learned that her parents had married and she had a number of brothers and sisters with whom she had much in common, except that her childhood had been very happy.
Mrs. Ahlborn resided in Madison from April 1970 until December 1995, when she returned to her native Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Jane is also well-known as the player of "Taps" at local American Legion funerals, being a proud member of the Roderick Prato Post 131 Munising Post of the American Legion. She plays Taps and the Coast Guard theme song on this video, at the funeral for Clifford Connell.
Jane was survived by her husband of 55 years, Wally of Munising; her children Frederick, Gregory, Diane, and Timothy; and three grandchildren Heidi, Josh, and Jennifer. She also leaves two great-granddaughters, Ivory and Zoey; her siblings, Chris, Judie, Jeanne, Richard, and Harlan.
