Gertrude J. Bauchan, 95 of Manistee, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, October 29, 2008 at Tendercare in Ludington.
She was born April 14, 1913 in Manistee, the daughter of the late Jack and Rose (Schultz) Blacker. On August 28, 1931, she married Arnold P. Bauchan, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1990. The Bauchan's lived in the Detroit area for forty years, returning to Manistee in 1977, following retirement.
Gertrude is survived by her sons, William Bauchan of Manistee and Roger Bauchan of Farmington Hills, MI; by seven grandchildren, and by nine great grandchildren and by sisters, Eleanor Hansen of Birmingham, MI, Germaine Boswell of Ludington and Florence Novak of Saginaw.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gertrude was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rogene Weir in 1981 and by sisters, Francis LaGuire, Lucille Juergens and Ruth Trumble.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 3rd at 1:30pm at the Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Fraklin D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may begin calling at the Johnson Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, where the family will receive friends from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9pm. The family is being served by the Johnson Funeral Home of Manistee.
