The following obituary appeared in the "Indiana Evening Gazette" (Indiana, PA) on Saturday, April 12, 1924, page 1, column 1:
John H. [sic] Kinter, aged 78 [sic] years, eight months and 24 days, and respected citizen of Indiana County, passed away at his home in Diamondville Wednesday night. Death was due to arterio sclerosis. He leaves his widow and these children: Wilson Kinter of Dixonville, John Kinter of Pine Flats, Horace Kinter of Braddock, Mrs. Sadie Bellman of Barnesboro, Mrs. Olive Ray of NantyGlo, Mrs. Mary Houston of Starford and Miss Josephine Kinter, at home. Funeral services will be conducted in his late residence Sabbath morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in Taylorsville Cemetery.
Note 1: Both John's obituary and death certificate show a middle initial of "H." All other records (census, births/deaths of children) show a middle initial of "F."
Note 2: The Wilson Kinter listed in the obituary was his brother, not his son.
