Thomas R. ODLAND
Surrounded by his loving family, Thomas R. Odland, 69, passed peacefully into heaven after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. His passion and love in life was his family. Tom was married for 47 years to his beloved wife Lois Ann. Loving father to Terri, Timothy, Michele and Erik, and his grandchildren Barrett and Elizabeth. Tom adored and cherished his parents Thorvold and Eileen; brothers Sonny, Jim (Mary) and John Arthur (Linda); his son-in-law Paul Gregg; and his many nephews and nieces. Born September 13, 1936 in Butte, Montana, Tom spent 3 years in the Navy. He married his eternal love, Lois in Butte, Montana in 1959. Tom graduated from Seattle University and worked at Boeing, Federal Department of Labor as an Auditor and then as an Internal Auditor, Administrator and Accountant for the Seattle Community Colleges. Tom was an active member of the Queen City Yacht Club, an Eucharistic minister at Seattle's Holy Family Church, and a former President of the West Seattle Peewee Baseball Association. He coached both baseball and football for many years. Tom was an honest man who was proud of his Norwegian and Irish heritage. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was an amazing man with a wonderful sense of humor. Dad, husband, Pa, friend and partner and pal, our hearts are full with remembering the love and beauty of this man. A word has not been invented to describe how much he will be missed. In lieu of flowers send remembrances to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tennessee, 38101. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Bainbridge Island, Washington.
