Four-year-old Asa Knapp, Jr., was the first child of Asa Knapp and Mary Wright of Rome, NY. When he died, he was buried in the Wright Cemetery outside Rome. This cemetery contains the graves of many of Mary's relatives, including her parents, Thomas Wright and Martha Butler, who helped to found the Wright Settlement of Rome. Asa and Mary Knapp were among the first settlers of Potsdam, New York.
